Things I never did

London is a beautiful and exciting city.

Earlier on this blog I mentioned how one of the best things about London is knowing you can do all these wonderful things, if you want to, while most of the evenings are spent indoors and most of the weekends are spent close to home.

I feel I need to get to know London better, to enjoy it a little bit more. From today on I will attempt at doing as many new things as possible. Life has the habit of getting in the way, so I won’t commit to a specific number or a specific frequency. Keeping this challenge until December is as much a commitment as I am willing to make.

Suggestions are welcome. It can be something from going to the end of the Piccadilly line to visiting Buckingham Palace, anything can count as new.

Well this post kinda makes me feel good, knowing I’m not the only one feeling the same thing. I’ve been here for about 7 months and apart from a couple of museums and a few other landmarks I’ve barely seen anything of London. During the week I’m usually tired and I guess the worst thing on weekends ends up being the crappy weather which puts me off immediately from even going anywhere. I guess lack of company most times might not help much, but that might change with a few friends coming to London. Anyway, I’m also starting to force myself to go and see things and I’ve finally been to the Kew Bridge Steam Museum today which is a ridiculous 20 min walk from my place. I guess I’ll have to start ticking more items of my “things to see in London” list and also go back to adding things to it when I hear about some interesting place to visit.

I can highly recommend doing food, drinks and bowling with a few friends at one of these guys lanes.

It’s a vintage style bowling alley with only a few lanes so you need to pre-book, the food is great and there is a decent cocktail bar. Been there a couple of times with my girlfriend and some other friends and never failed to be a great time. Even got to bowl next to Jude Law the first time I went (though he wasn’t in a great mood so we didn’t bother him).

Highly recommend it for a night out.

I’ve actually been to that place once on a company party, and yes, it’s an amazing place. I never thought I would spend so much time going through a Bourbon selection…and I know nothing about Bourbon.
